Literature Text
I wish I knew who told them,
so I could make them pay.
I wish I could make them suffer,
for each and every day.
I know it would make me as bad as them,
But I don’t really care.
I wish I could see them punished,
Make them pay right then and there.
But alas, I can do nothing,
And that really makes me sad,
Even though what I want to do
Might make me just as bad.
so I could make them pay.
I wish I could make them suffer,
for each and every day.
I know it would make me as bad as them,
But I don’t really care.
I wish I could see them punished,
Make them pay right then and there.
But alas, I can do nothing,
And that really makes me sad,
Even though what I want to do
Might make me just as bad.

I wrote this poem after reading "The Diary of Anne Frank" in 8th Grade.
It descibes my anger about the guy who told the Nazis where Anne Frank and her fellow escapees were hiding.
Of course, the person who told on them may have done it to save themselves and/or their family but I really don't know for sure...

Wow... This is no doubt something we've questioned at some point in our lives. I know I have. Still, that's some serious thinking you've done there. Ranks right up there with Hamlet's "To be or not to be" soliloquy. In fact, they're almost about the same thing!
